There is always the possibility that you can arrange to swap accommodations with Floridians if you have a home in your home state or country too. If you're a member of RCI, and are an owner of a timeshare, swaps are easily arranged to common popular destinations. Always plan in advance but never pay in advance if you can avoid it. If you own a home in another popular vacation or resort area, it is always a good idea to place a classified ad in Florida newspapers in the Orlando Sentinel or if you are planning a vacation around Miami, then one of the Miami newspapers requesting a swapping arrangement with your contact address and phone number. Setting up a web page or blog on blogger.com is a good idea because you can advertise your home with pictures and descriptions of the attractions in your area.

This may sound like a lot of work but really it isn't. Blogger is easy to use and will be a great contact address to write in your local advertisements for home swapping arrangements or other types of vacation rentals. Remember, planning is the key to finding a successful vacation rental or swap.
