Vacations in Las Vegas can be expensive depending on how you spend your time. This is an exciting cosmopolitan city with some of the best entertainment in the world all packed into a three or four mile strip. Pre-planning is essential.

Check the local listings in any of the newspapers and you'll run across at least one ad for vacation rentals near to where you want to go. In addition, there is always the possibility that you can arrange to swap accommodations with homeowners in Las Vegas who may be traveling to your home state or country.

If you're a member of RCI, and are an owner of a timeshare, swaps are easily arranged to common popular destinations. Always plan in advance but never pay in advance if you can avoid it. If you own a home in another popular vacation or resort area, it is always a good idea to place a classified ad in Las Vegas newspapers requesting a swapping arrangement with your contact address and phone number. Setting up a web page or blog on blogger.com is also a good idea because you can advertise your home with pictures and descriptions of the attractions in your area. This may sound like a lot of work but really it isn't.
